Hi Folks,
It’s Equinox and the day is equal to the night; tomorrow the day is shorter and we’re moving into Autumn and towards Winter.
With that in mind, I’d like to focus on the garden and tidying up out there before the weather turns properly and we want to batten down the hatches and drink hot chocolate in front of a blazing fire…. Well, I don’t have a fire here but it would be nice wouldn’t it? Apart from the bits of wood, bark and general muck dropped as you carry the logs in.
I actually have a solution for that – The Log Gobbler – It’s an ingenious design of sturdy canvas that wraps round the logs and means you can carry more, make less mess and still have a hand free for opening doors.
Now, I’ve noticed the leaves beginning to change colour and the first few are starting to drop. Leaf mould is a fantastic soil conditioner but containing the leaves while they rot down isn’t always as easy as it looks. Our Jute Love em and Leaf em sacks solve that one for you. Just stuff one full of leaves, tie the top up and stick it out of the way until Spring, when you’ll find a nice pile of leaf mould to spread where you need it.
While you’re tidying up and finding things that need hanging up inside in the dry, you might want to take a look at the Pack of Pegs too. Handy beech pegs with a metal spike to push into almost any surface. They make a moveable storage solution for wherever you need it.
I’m planning another newsletter before Christmas, with some gift ideas and I’d like to feature some fellow small businesses so if you know anyone please do let me know!
Hoping you all enjoy your gardens,
Sarah
June News 2008.
Welcome to the first Ethics Trading Newsletter!
June’s been an interesting month for Ethics Trading with a sudden rush on soap nuts causing a brief out of stock situation which has now been rectified with a large delivery this morning. Right at the beginning of the month we decided to move over here to the Eco Web Hosting company, where they claim:“We carefully calculate the carbon emissions of our whole business, and ensure that significantly more than this total is absorbed by our trees in Ransom Wood Business Park in Nottinghamshire.
To date we have planted over 100 trees, which at present absorb more than three times the carbon produced by our servers.”
How wonderful is that? So, Ethics Trading can now claim to be Carbon neutral and we’re very proud of that. To celebrate we’d like to offer you, our first newsletter subscribers, a 10% discount until the end of June - just write “june news” in the Voucher box on the shopping cart and it’ll deduct 10% from the cost of the products you’ve selected before it calculates the postage for you. Do feel free to forward this newsletter on to your friends and family if you think they’d like it, we’d love for them to sign up for the newsletter when they find out about us.
The next newsletter is scheduled for Autumn Equinox, do let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see featured as part of any future newsletters.
I hope the weather is as lovely for you as it is here!
Kind regards,
